Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a claim take?
This really depends if the business we are claiming against is still trading. If your advisers are still trading then they have to give us a final decision within 8 weeks. Many will choose to defend any claim which means your case may be passed on to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) for an independent review. This can take upto 6 months to get resolved.
Many of the cases we deal with involve advisers or businesses that have stopped trading. In these circumstances we will take your case to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). The turnaround for these claims is around 3 to 6 months.
How much compensation can I get back?
This all depends on the amount transferred and the circumstances of the transfer including your personal circumstances at the time. We always endeavour to claim any capital losses, plus any lost interest and compensation for the mis-sale.
Payouts can be up to £85,000.00
How do I know if I was mis sold a pension?
- The terms and conditions weren’t explained to you.
- Your advisor wasn’t as experienced as they said they were.
- You were encouraged to transfer your money from a workplace pension into a different scheme.
- You weren’t properly made aware of pension charges and fees.
- Your advisor recommended a pension or investment that involved more risk than you were prepared for.
We’re experts in helping people claim compensation for mis-sold pensions. We get results quickly – our team of advisers can identify whether you have been wrongly sold your pension, whether you can claim, and obtain a successful pay-out in the shortest possible time.
